Jasmine
Gold has spent her adult life gradually awakening to Spirit and the
truth of who she is. Her process of transformation continues to this
day in an ongoing dance of discovery.
Jasmine
had a fairly typical childhood filled with typical childhood difficulties.
In college, she started researching careers and became fascinated
by the study of personalities. All the personality and career tests,
such as her INFJ
personality, pointed her toward a teaching or counseling career,
but she had too many fears to seriously consider heading that direction.
In 1994, her previously healthy and straightforward life dissolved
when her thyroid became hyperactive. This was the start of Jasmine's
“formal” spiritual journey.
The
hyperactive thyroid and resultant crossed-eyes were her wake up call
to the world of spirituality, personal growth and alternative medicine.
She wanted to heal her thyroid and eye problems on all levels, not
just the physical. Her journey included homeopaths and naturopaths,
traditional shamans and modern energy healers, osteopaths and acupuncturists,
hypnotherapists and natural vision teachers, as well as conventional
modern medicine. She took part in a personal growth and leadership
program with Phoenix II Seminars. She learned Reiki
energy healing and took classes with the Berkeley
Psychic Institute (BPI), the Foundation
for Shamanic Studies, and Mother Sarita, Miguel Ruiz’s mother.
She read lots of books and really loved one entitled The
Reluctant Shaman by Kaye Cordell Whitaker. Jasmine’s formal explorations
were put somewhat on hold in 1996, by the birth of her son Julian.
However, her informal explorations were enhanced 100 fold as she started
learning to apply Toltec principles to the task of parenting, even
before she had heard of the Toltec work. Julian has ended up being
one of her greatest teachers.
Jasmine’s
journey on the Toltec Path began in early 2001 when she moved to Santa
Rosa to help create a cohousing
community in Cotati where she now lives. Soon afterwards, Spirit
guided her to the Wisdom Circle of Toltec
Master Allan Hardman. Here she discovered something that she had
not found in the other paths she had studied up until that time: the
element of unconditional love and acceptance. She realized how emotionally
shut down she was, how filled with judgments, and how much her mind
was controlling her actions. With intense courage and commitment,
she started learning to trust Spirit instead of her mind. She began
awakening to how she was completely responsible for her own happiness.
She apprenticed with Allan for approximately 1-1/2 years and participated
in power journeys to sacred sites in Teotihuacan, Mexico and Peru
before moving on to work with other teachers.
Through
Jasmine’s studies with Allan, it became easier and easier for her
to hear Spirit’s call instead of listening to the fears generated
by her mind. When Spirit called her to join Miguel
Ruiz’s three-year Intensive Dreaming program in San Diego in mid-2002,
she didn’t question it. This was a huge leap of faith for her at the
time because she hated driving and had rarely driven more than a few
miles at a time. During the program she started driving the 60 miles
to and from the Oakland airport every month as well as doing significantly
more day-to-day driving. By the end of the year, Jasmine could no
longer let her fears hold her back from creating her dream of helping
others to do what she had done. Spirit’s call had become too strong
to resist. In January, 2003, she started facilitating classes and
later that year assisted in a weekend workshop with Brandt
Morgan. Her favorite part of the Toltec work is the experiential
and energetic processes, such as Recapitulation Breathing and Dreaming.
She feels that these tools, combined with the unconditional love and
acceptance from the teachers, are what makes the Toltec path much
more powerful than any other similar spiritual path that she has explored.
In 2004, she created Spirit Gold: a unique synthesis of the Toltec
teachings and the various energy healing techniques she has learned
and taught herself. Information on the wide variety of ways that other
teachers offer the Toltec work can be found at http://www.tolteccalendar.org.
Jasmine
is also pursing another passion: her passion for community building.
Along with her artist partner Sterling
Hoffmann, she has created the Hands
of Gold Healing Clinic, a community of healers who provide the
opportunity for everyone to explore different healing modalities and
find the healers and modalities that resonate with them.
Jasmine
loves the continuing process of getting in touch with her true self
through exploring and releasing old beliefs. She would love to support
you in doing the same. In the words of don Miguel Ruiz, “If I can
do it, you can too.”
